First Travel Day!

First Travel Day!

I Must Brie Crazy

Hi Everyone! We're Travelling the World! Atlanta>England>Egypt>South Africa>Sumatra>Bali>Australia>New Zealand>South America>Central America>Where next??? I really hope you enjoy my blog. I'm new at this, so be kind.

We’re On Our Way To England!

Our first travel day is happening now (Sept 4)! Also, Happy Labor Day! Today was the cheapest day for us to fly; it usually is on a holiday. We both slept pretty poorly, and were up very late. Last night I finished watching a movie I’ve been watching for a few days. By the time I finished it, my restless leg syndrome started bothering me which made it hard for me to get comfortable and fall asleep. Thank goodness our nice friends let us sleep in, and allow us to lie around their house and be lazy. We have had such a nice time with them. I still have some organizing to do in my suitcases. (I’ll do a post about all that I’ve packed another time.) I already think I’ve over packed.

Friends and family keep asking if we’re excited, and to be honest I don’t think it’s set in yet. I’ve been to England a few times, and obviously Andrew is from England, so it just feels like we’re doing a familiar trip to visit friends and family. I am looking forward to spending some time with my mother in law, and catching up with friends we’ve not seen in a few years. I wish I was 60 lbs lighter for the photos I want to take with everyone, but I won’t let that hold me back from enjoying good food and good friends.

Ball of Nerves

I’m getting really anxious right now. I think it’s because we’re laying around the house relaxing. We’re planning on working out with Paige so that we are more relaxed on the flight. We’ve got to shower and re-pack our bags, and basically do anything to keep my anxiety from getting worse. I realized when I went to bed last night that I heard something drop as I was packing up stuff in my cousin’s house. I thought I found what dropped (a sweet card from Andrew), but when I was re-organizing my travel documents yesterday I realized I was missing Andrew’s scuba diving card. Fortunately my cousin was able to find it and he’s going to send it to us in England or get us the information that we need.

I keep thinking of all the people I will miss, and the food I will miss. I will also miss my bed a whole lot! Not sleeping in the same place or same bed sounds the opposite of relaxing to me.

Driving to Newnan

We got to Newnan on Saturday the 2nd. We started our first travel day in a car driving from Pensacola, FL to Newnan, GA. Saturday morning the alarm went off and we had a lot to get done before making the 5 hour drive to stay with friends in Newnan, GA. I have the best friends! We’re getting to spend a couple days with them until they take us to the airport.

Originally, we planned to load our stuff in to storage and get everything out of my cousin’s house so that we didn’t burden him further after we already spent the summer with him in his small house. Luckily for us, and unfortunately for him, we seriously underestimated how long it would take us to finish loading our stuff up. We planned to set off for Newnan at 10:30 am and eventually set off an hour later. We didn’t get one thing put in to storage. BIG THANKS to my cousin for letting us live with him. Also, for dealing with our aftermath of crap now that we’re gone.

My mom and brother drove to Pensacola since they are searching for a new place to live! My mom was great enough to time out her visit so that she could drive us to Newnan. We spent most of the ride watching the greenery pass us by. We had a nice random stop at a gas station that happened to have a BBQ joint inside. You can’t get better than a nice BBQ sandwich as one of your last meals in the U.S. Being able to spend a few more hours with my family trapped in a car was also nice.

I am so excited to be visiting England (and the world!) but I will truly miss things about America, especially my family and friends.
